Scott Fisher is a 37yr old Catskill fly tyer out of Somerville, NJ. He has been tying for almost 15 years. Scott is a Pro Tyer for J.Stockard, and a member of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild for about 10 yrs. He has tied at the Fly Fishing Show as well as the Symposium for the past 5 years under the Guild, showcasing the history and preservation of the region and historic flies that came from there.
Scott has done commercial tying in the past, and had a successful online business selling his work. He has taught fly tying, and has done demonstrations of historic patterns at the Catskill Fly Fishing Museum in Livingston Manor, NY.
Scott’s primary focus is to tie performance driven flies, while preserving the incredible history they have. He will teach how to tie modern equivalents of historic patterns using the advantage of todays synthetics with the natural materials of the past.
The fly tying session with start at 7pm on Monday, November 21st at The Parsippany Library, 449 Halsey Rd, Parsippany. You should bring a vise, bobbin, thread, whip finisher, scissors, and a bodkin. Please bring only what is necessary as the space is limited. Eight tyers is the maximum. The cost is FREE.
