Auction Night Thursday December 11th

The best night of the Hacklebarney year (other than the banquet) is coming up  soon.  Every year members and guests have the opportunity to bid on fly fishing gems and crap alike.  There will be books, equipment, tying gear and more.  The more is always the interesting part.

There will also be a pot luck dinner and  some beers floating around.

You have a week people.  Look through your closets and attics and bring something to put up for auction.

As Sam Sandoz already cleaned out his garage last year, he can't donate as much,  so we all need to pick up the slack.

ill be donating my second Ferrari for auction, as I don't use it as much since I bought the Tesla.

What could be better?  Good food, brews and some truly bizarre stuff up for auction.

Be there.

Simms Gear

We will be placing an order to Simms for custom Hacklebarney gear in a few weeks.  If you want a chance to look over the catalog and to place your order, be sure to come to the meeting on 11/13!

Next Thursday....Henry Ramsay

The name is Henry Ramsay.  He is the author of "Matching Major Eastern Hatches, New Patterns for Selective Trout" published by Stackpole / Headwater Books.

He is a custom fly tier, PA guide, fly fishing/tying instructor, photographer and all around Renaissance man.

He'll be speaking on Thursday, November 13th at 7:30pm in Whippany.

He will also have copies of his book for sale and signing.  What a great gift for grandma (and me too please!)

Fly Fisherman of the Year contest

Well folks, its here again.  The Fly Fisherman of the Year contest at the Raritan Inn.  This year, Hacklebarney will be represented by Rich Tullo.

After last year's wash out, and Fredy's R&V win, its about time we take home the prize.

This could be the year, as the conditions are so crappy that the playing field is equally level and lousy for all.

Go get em Tullo.  Dont come home without the trophy!

There are tickets still available for the banquet.  Call Shannon's if you would like to go.
