Zoom Chapter Meeting with Jeff Kurt, Thursday, April 14th

Cris Giordano March 26, 2022

On April 14, 2022 at 7:30 PM take a journey from the stone age to the present with Jeff Kurt as he presents his talk 40,000 Years of Angling History With a Brief Detour to New Jersey. Learn about the history of angling from earliest times and find out why we fish the way we do today. Discover New Jersey’s part in fishing history (yes – some important innovations happened here). This is a unique talk that you do not want to miss!

Jeff Kurt is a long-time member and past president of Hacklebarney TU who has an interest in angling history and antique fishing tackle (aka junk). Trying to find out how our ancestors fished he has fished with bamboo rods, silk lines and classic wet flies and has even gone as far as making horse-hair lines and homemade hooks in accordance with the Treatyse of Fysshynge with an Angle.

March Zoom Meeting with Henry Ramsay

Cris Giordano February 12, 2022

Henry Ramsay is the author of "Matching Major Eastern Hatches, New Patterns for Selective Trout" published by Stackpole / Headwater Books and released in January 2011, and co-author of "Keystone Fly Fishing Guide" released in 2017. He is also a custom fly tier, fly fishing and fly tying instructor, photographer and presenter.

Henry’s life as a fly fisherman began more than 40 years ago on a stream in central Pennsylvania while watching someone fly fishing with flies they tied themselves. The image was magical and a lifelong obsession began at that point. After all these years the magic still hasn't worn off. Since then his obsession has taken him to many of the best streams across his home state of Pennsylvania as well as streams and rivers in New York, Maryland, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Montana.

Henry is working on a new presentation on Kettle Creek's Class A Wild Waters. There are 28 tributaries in the Kettle watershed that meet Class A Wild criteria. Should be a cool program!

Please join us Thursday, March 10th, at 7:30 on Zoom. You should receive an email from our president, Jim Langell, with all the details just before the Zoom meeting.
