Calling all chefs and hoarders. The best meeting of the year is fast approaching. This is where the chapter chefs all bring in their finest munchables, and the chapter hoarders try to get rid of some of their stuff.

That’s right folks! The December auction and pot luck dinner meeting is almost here. I will be bringing Jim’s famous Mac and Cheese. I’m sure Steve will have his kielbasa and kraut. The question is, what are you going to make this year? Start scanning those cook books!

Also, start going through the piles of crap you have laying about your house. We welcome books, old fishing equipment, tying supplies and equipment, tools, gently used fishing clothes and just about anything else you can think of.

Yes, we will auction off your mom’s diamond ring and your uncle Bernie’s car. If its legit, you’re willing to donate it and it ain’t broken, bring it to the meeting and we will auction it off in the name of funds for Hacklebarney.

That’s Thursday December 13th, 7:30pm at the Legion Hall. Don’t show up empty handed and remember to bring cash!

November meeting speaker is the famous Tim Flagler!

If you have been a member for a while, you know Tim, as he has presented to us many times. If you haven’t seen Tim, his video is second to none, and he can shed new light on topics that you thought you might be well versed in.

He got me to approach Ken Lockwood Gorge in a new way!

Well Tim will be sharing on his recent trip to Patagonia and I know it is going to be one hell of a presentation.

So please help me in welcoming that travelling hippy, Tim, back to Hacklebarney on 11/8 at the Legion Hall in Whippany. 7:30pm in case you forgot!

This Month's Fly is the BWO!!!

OK folks, here you go. This month’s fly is one of the most useful in your box. It hatches all year long and everybody on the East coast needs to get familiar with them if you haven’t already.

THE BWO!!!

This mayfly goes all year long, and therefore the fish are used to seeing them.

If you want to be a part of the next big thing, your time has come! We will have our inaugural meeting with the Fly Tyers club contributing.

Here is the deal. Bring 10 flies that you tied of the monthly pattern. 5 of those flies go to the chapter for a bucket raffle. The other 5 flies go into a separate raffle for only the tyers who contributed.

This month’s fly will be the October Caddis! Pretty fitting, no?
