This Month's Fly is the BWO!!!

OK folks, here you go. This month’s fly is one of the most useful in your box. It hatches all year long and everybody on the East coast needs to get familiar with them if you haven’t already.

This mayfly goes all year long, and therefore the fish are used to seeing them.

So get you thinking cap on. Tie 10 BWO flies of your choosing and bring them next week to the meeting!

Fly Tying Club for next Thursday's meeting- October Caddis

If you want to be a part of the next big thing, your time has come! We will have our inaugural meeting with the Fly Tyers club contributing.

Here is the deal. Bring 10 flies that you tied of the monthly pattern. 5 of those flies go to the chapter for a bucket raffle. The other 5 flies go into a separate raffle for only the tyers who contributed.

This month’s fly will be the October Caddis! Pretty fitting, no?

Next Chapter Meeting: 10/11. Captain Anthony Grassi from Fin Chaser Charters

For our October meeting next Thursday October 11th, we will have Captain Anthony Grassi speaking.

Captain Anthony will be speaking about fishing in Montauk. I know a lot of chapter members who have fished with Anthony and its clear he knows his game, so this will be a great meeting.

That’s Thursday 10/11 at 7:30pm at the American Legion Hall in Whippany. Well see you there!!!

If you have been around for a while, you know John Marci used to be a member of the chapter, before re-locating to upstate NY.

Well John will be back with the chapter again this Thursday to talk about Bamboo Rods. The history, the making of them and some interesting facts you probably didn’t know. If you happen to have a bamboo rod, bring it and John can tell you more about it.
