Morristown Fishing Derby

Hey folks, I was contacted by the Recreation Manager of Morristown.  They need volunteers to help kids bait their hooks and remove fish from the hooks.

While this isn't exactly conservation, there is nothing like helping kids catch fish.  We just might set them on the path to be Hacklebarney members one day.

They need 5 volunteers.

The contest will be at Burnham Park Pond this Saturday April 11th, starting at 8am.  To get there, hop on route 510 (Washington St) heading towards Mendham and youll see it on your left.

Email me at jimmy229oz@yahoo.com if you can make it or need more info.  Wear your Hacklebarney colors.

Hacklebarney Fly Fishing School

To say it as plainly as possible, there is no better way to take a crash course in fly fishing than with Hacklebarney and your host, Bill Sjovall.  Besides having a great beard, Bill has taught this program for years and has it down to a science.  I remember all attendees catching fish last year.  Check out the flier and sign up.  Its the best deal going and the best teacher from here to the Rockies.

The Banquet

The banquet is coming up soon.  On March 7th at 6pm, we will be hosting our biggest fundraising event of the year at The Exchange in Rockaway.  The address is 160 East Main Street.

We will have great stuff for auction.

You can bid on trips to fish for wild trout, fish the salt, fish the East Branch, fish the Willowemoc and shoot clay pigeons.

You can bid to have a personal fly tying lesson with famous tyer and author Matt Grobert.

We will be auctioning off a handmade bamboo fly rod, sets of flies, wines, art and more.

Mark this one down on your calendar, and then RSVP to let us know you are coming as we need to give the Exchange an approximate headcount.

I'll be there, checkbook in hand.
